When it comes to vehicle accessories, we know all there is to know. We have been testing and reviewing various accessories for over a decade, so you can count on us to help you make a better buying decision.

As for Toyota Camry bike racks, we think the BV 2-bike mount rack strikes the perfect balance of features and value. It has good load capacity and will fit most regular bikes no problem.

For this review, we considered factors like the build quality and design of each bike rack. The utility each rack provides is another detail that can make or break it for us.

With all that in mind, keep reading to find out more about the best bike racks for the Toyota Camry.

BV 2-Bike Bicycle Hitch Mount Rack

Overall Best

This bike rack from BV is seriously well built and will carry two larger bikes, no problem. It’s a platform style carrier so it’s very secure and does not wobble or move around too much.

Let’s start with the build quality of this rack. It is a serious bit of hardware and sports an all metal design. It is very well put together and at a mere 40 lbs, doesn’t weigh that much either. The compact design is another plus point and makes the rack easier to install and store when not in use.

How does it fare as a bike rack, though? It is designed to hold two adult size bikes and has a max load capacity of just over 70 lbs. It can accommodate as much as a 3’ wide tire, so fat tire bikes can’t be mounted. However, we tested it with a wide variety of bikes and had no issues getting them securely mounted.

Besides the lower tray for securing tires, there are curved arms that hold the bike at the frame. They hold the bike in place and are padded in soft material to avoid scratching or denting the frame.

It is designed to fit a 1.25”x1.25” or 2”x2” hitch receiver and we can report that is very stable at speed. The unique ‘2 way anti-wobble’ design inspires a lot of confidence when carrying bikes and we had no issues with wobbling even at highway speeds.

The actual rack is foldable so it’ll stay out of your way when not in use. We also like the fact that the rack will tilt away even when you have 2 bikes loaded on it. This allows you to open your liftgate or hatchback and access the cargo area easily.

There is also a 4-bike version available that we also really liked. Each bike rack has a reflective piece integrated into the rear, improving visibility and safety at night.

The package also includes an adapter for different sized hitch receivers, and the already effortless installation is made even simpler with the inclusion of easy to follow instructions.

Pros

  • All metal design
  • Lightweight, 40lbs construction
  • Compact and easy to assemble
  • Holds 2 bikes securely
  • 70 lbs max load capacity
  • Compatible with upto 3” wide tire
  • Tray style loops hold bike in place
  • Curved arms secure the bike frame
  • Soft padding on arms prevents scratching or denting
  • 2 way anti wobble system
  • Very stable at speed
  • Foldable design
  • Tilts out of the way, allowing access to cargo area
  • Safety reflector in the rear
  • Easy to install

Cons

  • Cannot fit fat tire bikes

Allen Sports’ Deluxe Trunk Mounted Bike Rack

Best Budget

Allen Sports’ Deluxe trunk mounted rack surprised us with its compact yet sturdy design. Combine that with a secure bike mount and bargain bin price tag, and we just can’t resist!

This trunk mounted bike rack is like that one guy at the gym. You know the one: pretty unassuming and quiet, but then he benches 315 like it’s nothing. Allen Sports’ trunk mounted rack has one of the smallest footprints of any bike rack we’ve seen, but it does not compromise on build quality.

Alloy steel dominates the construction of this rack and there are high quality side straps for added stability and rigidness. This rack is a far cry from the clunky and poorly built budget racks you’ve seen on clearance sales at your local sports equipment stores.

The obvious benefit of this rack is its compact design. If you don’t need a heavy duty rack weighing you down all the time, this is a great alternative. It is also worth a look if you only occasionally need a bike rack and want something that is easier to take on and off.

It is a hanging bike rack designed to hold 2 bikes at the same time. There are individual tie downs for each bike that secure the frame and keep it stable. There is also a strap at the handlebars which keeps the front tire from banging up against your vehicle.

We drove in a number of different terrains and both bikes stayed very secure. There were no rattling or creaking noises from the rack either. The 12 inch carry arms fit every bike we could get our hands on and they are 115 inches wide so you’ll be hard pressed to find a bike that doesn’t fit.

And even though the rack is downright petite, it still has a max load capacity of around 70 lbs, plenty for 2 adult size bikes. The lower frame is padded in soft material and does not scratch or dent your car’s bodywork. It also keeps both bikes away from the trunk itself.

It comes with a limited lifetime warranty and will fit most vehicles without any issues. However, we would recommend checking to see if it is compatible with your specific car, SUV, or hatchback.

Pros

  • Alloy steel build
  • Most compact design of any rack
  • Side straps keep rack very stable
  • Ideal for drivers who only occasionally need the rack
  • Very easy to install
  • Holds 2 bikes
  • 70 lbs load capacity
  • Straps secure bike at the frame and handlebars
  • No rattling or creaking noises
  • 115 inch width can hold larger bikes
  • Padded lower frame protects car bodywork
  • Limited lifetime warranty provided
  • Most affordable bike rack

Cons

  • May not fit every make and model of car

KAC K4 4-Bike Rack Platform

Premium Choice

If you need something heavy duty with more space for bikes, the KAC 4-bike platform is worth looking into. It is constructed from high quality materials and provides tonnes of utility.

Alloy steel seems to be the material of choice for all the best bike racks. This is another platform style rack that takes build quality to the next level. It is built tough and has one of the highest load capacities we’ve seen.

The alloy steel is also treated with a special black powder coating. This keeps rust and corrosion at bay, while also looking a lot sexier than plain steel.

There is space for 4 bikes and each has its own dedicated cradle with a tray style loop for both wheels and straps for the frame. The main masts have four padded arms where the frames of the bikes are secured. You don’t have to worry about scratching the bikes or your car’s paint either.

Load capacity is rated for a whopping 240 lbs, and will hold the largest of bikes with ease. The 5” trays can hold fat tire bikes and heavier electric bikes as well. The 2” hitch is very secure and stable. We did not notice any wobbling, thanks to the patented anti wobble system which eliminates slack between the receiver and rack for a more confidence inspiring fit.

This 4-bike rack is a little on the chunky side, as it should be. But KAC uses a clever design that lets two of the bike carriers detach, leaving you with a two bike rack when you need it. And even with all four carriers attached, the rack can fold up when not in use to save space.

There is a tilting feature too, which lets you access your liftgate or trunk. However, we recommend practicing caution when using this feature with all 4 bikes mounted as the weight can be overwhelming.

Installation is a breeze and you can have the rack up and running in under 15 minutes. You might require a special hitch adapter for some vehicles, and some low-y frame bikes will need an additional adapter to fit on the carrier properly.

To sum up, we really like the KAC 4-bike rack and would recommend it to any driver looking for the best bike rack and is willing to spend a bit more to get it.

Pros

  • Alloy steel frame
  • Black powder coating
  • Rust and corrosion resistant
  • 240 lbs load capacity
  • Holds 4 bikes
  • 5” tray style loop
  • Padded main masts prevent scratching
  • Can hold fat tire bikes and e-bikes
  • 2” hitch is very stable
  • Does not move around at high speed
  • Anti wobble system eliminates slack between rack and receiver
  • Can be turned into a 2 bike rack
