The 4 Best Suspension Lift Kits for Toyota Tacoma

The Toyota Tacoma is a durable workhorse from our South Asian friends, built with practical quality made to last. It’s never a bad thing if you start getting the itch to make yours have a little nicer ride, and sit a bit higher off the ground. These trucks are notorious for outlasting their American counterparts. So, if you’re going to have this thing forever working like a dream, we understand the desire to trick it out.

There are plenty of lift kits on the market for Toyotas, but there are differences in quality that matter. With a properly installed lift kit you’ll increase the clearance of your tires and the looks of your truck. So we hope you find something you like.

Here are 4 of the best lift kits for Tacoma trucks on the market:

.

1. Supreme Suspension - 3 inch lift kit for Toyota Tacoma 2005-2019

This offering from Supreme Suspension for the Toyota Tacoma is highly regarded. The kit is compatible with a Tacoma from 2005-2019. They’re a well regarded company for a reason. This kit includes CNC machined aircraft billets. To make the offset look natural, it’s a 3 inch lift in the front and a 2 inch lift in the rear.

It fits both 2WD Tacomas along with 4WD as long as they’re from the specified date range. This does not fit TRD Off-Road models.  It’s a very durable kit and will make your truck look spiffy.

The installation is regarded on the easier end and will take you about 2 to 4 hours if you have some familiarity with working on your vehicle. No special tools, just elbow grease.

What does this lift kit include?

  • 2x Aircraft Billet Front Strut Spacers
  • 2x Aircraft Billet Rear Lift Blocks
  • 4x Extended U Bolts
  • Instructions
  • Decals
  • Bottle Opener Keychain

Your factory shocks will remain unscathed as this is mostly an aesthetic improvement. Plus, you’ll be able to crack open a drink with your fancy bottle opener.

2. Performance Accessories - 3 inch Body Lift Kit for Toyota Tacoma

Many owners prefer body lifts for the sole reason that they aren’t comfortable with altering their suspension, we get that. With this body lift kit from Performance Accessories you can do that. It’s 3 inches allowing you to get a little better vantage point or perhaps some bigger tires.

Your OEM suspension is left alone, and your ride stays exactly the same. As always there is a trade-off. This kit is more expensive than our previous option and also includes many more components.

So what you’re looking at is a long freaking time for installation. How long it takes depends on you and whoever you have helping – but expect to spend some time on this. More than you would with spacers. After you see the difference in height of your lift it will all be worth it. Three inches without messing with your stock suspension is a pretty great deal.

What does this lift kit include?

  • Fiberglass reinforced Nylon Blocks
  • Bumper Relocation Brackets
  • Steering Extension
  • Bolts, Clamps, Miscellaneous Hardware
  • Instructions

The best option for an owner who wants the look of a lift but without the potential suspension issues. Enjoy the install.

3. LR-LRTaco - 3" Front 1" Rear Toyota Tacoma Leveling Kit 2005-2017

Not everyone wants the same angle of lift for their truck, and this kit has a 2 inch offset between the front and rear. Add that it has a lifetime warranty and we’re sold. With this kit, you can sport up to 33″ tires. It will fit on top of the strut, so your original suspension is not affected as it doesn’t pre-load the spring.

It is not compatible with the Tacoma Pro.

What does this lift kit include?

  • Aluminum Spacers
  • Differential Drop Brackets
  • Bumpstop Spacers
  • Bolts, U Brackets
  • Instructions(Digital Download)

This is going to take you a bit to install, and it would help to have a friend. But, it’s a great option for Tacoma owners if you’re looking for another non-intrusive lift kit.

4. MotoFab Lifts 95Taco-3F-2R 3" Front and 2" Rear Leveling lift kit for Toyota Tacoma 1995-2004

For earlier models of the Tacoma there aren’t a lot of lift options around, thankfully Motofab is here to save the day. They have a lift kit that works from 1995 all the way to 2004. This covers the gap that the later designs don’t fill. Probably the coolest thing about this company is that the kit is made in the USA and you get a lifetime warranty.

One of the simplest kits we’ve come across, the manufacturer suggests it only takes about 1 1/2 hours to install. Take that with a grain of salt though, our rule of thumb is to at least double install times that are recommended. The billets are made from CNC machined aluminum, so they’re solid quality pieces that should last for some time. If you’ve got an earlier model of Tacoma, we think this is the one.

What does this lift kit include?

  • Aluminum Billets(Powdercoated Black)
  • U Bolts
  • Spacers
  • Nuts, Washers
  • Instructions(Digital Download)

Easy bolt-on installation that should take anywhere from 1 1/2 to 3 hours.

Buying the Best Lift Kit for your Tacoma

Remember that adding a lift kit is going to increase the strain on surrounding components. The higher you go – the harsher it gets. It will also affect your ride minimally. But, if you’re into offroading or you like the look it will help you getting over bigger obstacles. We’ve gone over our four top choices based on the quality, price, and value of these brands.

There are other options, and they won’t leave you with the same reassurance. Installing one of these kits isn’t always easy and it can be very time-consuming. If you feel you are not up to the task, find a good body or auto part shop near you. You’ll pay a bit more but it’ll be worth the time you saved in the end.

Good luck shopping, and let us know if you end up with one of these how it turned out. Pictures of lifted trucks keep us happy at night
